Education for all
Recognizing their challenge of access to basic education, we reach out to the children of this indigenous community.
Nurturing Minds Foundation recognizes the challenges faced by the indigenous community in pursuing their right to education, with our supplemental learning program, we will be able to help these children with their basic understanding of lessons learned and difficulties in learning.
From the previous survey, it was found out that the youth and children of the Mangyan community experienced prejudice from their peers and have been set at a disadvantage in schools because of their unique physical characteristics and some of them already passing the normal age of their grade level. Because of this, they become insecure and lacks confidence during classes making it a somewhat a hindrance to their learning. This puts their efforts to waste, considering the rivers and mountains they have to cross before reaching their schools.
NMF will not give up on these children and will strive to help them through this supplemental learning program, partnering with other organizations and volunteers to develop literacy resources for them.
