MalasaKit para kay Juana: Women's hygiene kit distribution
In celebration of Women's Month, we aim to uplift the transient stay of women and children in the Zamboanga City Women's Crisis Center by providing them Hygiene Kits.
On March 8, 2023, Nurturing Minds Foundation, in collaboration with Jovenes Allianza De Zamboanga, celebrated International Women's Day through their project MalasaKit para kay Juana: Women's hygiene kit distribution at the Zamboanga City Women's Crisis Center.
The Women's Crisis Center who, currently accommodates about 20 clients of distressed and displaced women and children, were able to receive 30 kits containing basic hygiene products such as towels, soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, sanitary pads, etc. Ms Maria Jesusa Alvarez, Special Operations Services Division Chief offered her message of gratitude for this effort and hoped to continue such partnership for the welfare of their clients.
Ms Lahksmi Loon, Center Head relayed the current situation of the center with their limited facilities and supplies for their clients. She further emphasized that they greatly value interventions like this and that they are ever grateful to everyone who made this all possible. As a gesture of gratitude, the children at the Women's Crisis Center offered a simple dance tribute.
Nurturing Minds Foundation hopes that them through this simple act, it would empower the women clients of the center and that these hygiene kits would make their stay in the center more comfortable and dignified.
